So my exhibition went really well. I haven’t posted anything on Tumblr in a while, so i’ve got plenty of stuff to upload - Pictures of the piece’s that went in the exhibition, pictures from the Preview night on the 27th of July and the new t-shirts.
This is “We are Ninja’ it sold on the first night. It’s a great feeling knowing you can produce imagery that other people can appreciate and enjoy.
In answer to your question ” xhastexo”, I listen to a lot of different music while i get creatin”. At the minute i’ve been listening to the soundtrack for ‘Drive’, Seasick Steve, The White Stripes and Dance Gavin Dance, so quite a varied mix. If you’ve got any good suggestions for something for me to listen to while i work, i’d be interested to find something new!
On a slightly more educational level, anybody know how i reply to comments left by followers?
Look Ma’ i made it!!
So here’s the poster for my first solo exhibition (first real exhibition of any kind really). I spent a couple of hours knocking this together, i’m pretty crap when it comes to getting creative on a computer! I should of just painted it!!
King of the Monsters!
I started this last week sometime, it was a real struggle to get up to painting the shadow in, but i think i know where im taking this piece. I cant wait to get this finished and ready for the exhibition!
Here’s King kong during various stages of completion. I started this piece off at home, the i had the opportunity to finish it off in the gallery above the bar i work in. I spent the best part of 35 hours up there. It was awesome, so much light and space to think! Anyway…
KING KONG
This is one of my piece’s for my solo exhibition in July, inspired by 1960’s Japanese Cinema and a favourite movie/franchise of mine. This 100cmx80cm beast took around 45 hours. Which i managed to squeeze out in between working and sleeping in under 2 weeks.I took a few photo’s of different stages, which i will upload later!
I have already started on 2 more piece’s which i should get finished in the next week - photo’s coming soon!!
Here are a few photos from the Bad Edit Showcase 17/05/2012. This was the first Art Showcase/ Exhibition that i have had a chance to be a part of. I think the overall result of the evening was very positive, and im looking forward to being apart of future shows.
I would probably have a bit more to say about the evening but im a super lightweight and was pretty drunk before the event kicked off. Thanks to Joe Burton, and Bob Catteral for getting me involved!
